Kim Dotcom, best known as the founder of (now defunct) file sharing service Megaupload, has announced a new project called Mega.
The service, previously referred to as "Megabox," will enable users to store their data in the cloud, with support for encryption and cross-account folder sharing.
"You hold the keys to what you store in the cloud, not us," says a message on the project's website.
Mega will also offer a browser-based download manager, as opposed to Megaupload, whose Mega Manager had to be installed on users' computers.
