Millions of online activists, signing some 124 different petitions, helped to end the Boy Scouts of America's century-long ban on gay members.
According to online petition platform Change.org, 1,866,000 signatures were collected on petitions advocating the Boy Scouts change its policy. To celebrate this milestone, Change.org created this infographic, which is a timeline of the advocates work leading up to the milestone decision.
The largest petition, garnering nearly half a million signatures, was started by Karen Andersen, the mother of a 12-year Boy Scouts member who was denited his Eagle Scout badge for being gay. Read more...
