Reddit, already a vocal opponent of CISPA, is attempting to raise awareness for the issue by blacking out some comments on the site.
The blackouts appeared on some subreddits beginning Monday morning. The call on whether to join the protest and how to protest were made by moderators, Reddit GM Erik Martin told Mashable in a phone interview. For those subreddits that took part, the comments are still legible, but feature a hard-to-read format in which white letters appear against a black background. Atop the page is a banner stating, "Why is this subreddit blacked out? Click here to learn more about CISPA!" which leads to this CISPA discussion thread.
