'Financial Times' Launches 24-Hour Commentary Wire

The Financial Times is taking the wraps off fastFT, a 24-hour financial news-commentary wire that promises, in the words of FT editor Lionel Barber, to "deliver up-to-the-minute reporting and comment in short, sharp and informed dispatches."

"When 140 characters doesn’t cut it, fastFT will go beyond the headlines, providing context and opinion in quick, authoritative reports with a level of transparency and personality that isn’t available elsewhere," Barber wrote in a memo shared with Mashable.

FastFT will be run by a team of eight editorial staff members: three in New York, three in London and two in Hong Kong, according to an FT spokesperson. Other FT journalists, as well as guest writers, will also contribute, the spokesperson added. Read more...
