Groupon isn't going anywhere, but Andrew Mason might be. That was the message given off by Mason, Groupon's co-founder and CEO, during an interview with Henry Blodget at Business Insider's Ingition conference on Wednesday.
In response to several reports this week that some members of Groupon's board are talking about replacing him as CEO following the company's poor stock performance, Mason had a simple answer: Of course they are.
"Here's a newsflash: Our stock is down 80% [from the IPO]. It would be weird if the board wasn't discussing whether I was the right guy for this job," Mason said in the interview.
